You are welcome to join us for an Online Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Drop-in.
Beginners, as well as others who are more experienced in mindfulness and self-compassion, are welcome.
The one-hour practice session will consist of a short introduction to mindful self-compassion, followed by two mindfulness and self-compassion meditations, where you will be guided to find inner kindness, calm and balance. Each meditation will be approximately 20 minutes each, with an invitation of sharing your experiences in between. We will close with an inspiring short poem or quote.
The practise sessions are designed for us to come together to deepen our meditation, mindfulness and self-compassion, formal and informal practices. The aim is to promote personal growth. Please note that the practise sessions are not a psychological therapeutic intervention.
Preparing for the session, we would recommend a space where there will be a minimum of distraction, preferably in a room with the door close. You can sit on a chair or the floor, or lay down on the floor with a pillow under your head. Choose a position that is most comfortable for you. If being still for 20 minutes, is not so comfortable for you, you are free to stand up or to move around slowly and mindfully during the session.
Wherever you are in the world, we would like for you to join us, to connect, to be part of a worldwide community of like-minded people.
Numerous studies over the last 30 years have shown the benefits of mindfulness, self-compassion and meditation. Typically, individuals who take on meditation and informal practices of mindfulness and self-compassion are more emotionally stable and have better control of their moods and behaviours. They are more able to handle stress throughout the day and to relax before bedtime. Because they are more present, they can make the most of their lives as it is; bounce from the difficulties and enjoy the good moments. Mindful self-compassion meditation practices increase the capacity for happiness in us all.
