Our psychologist Marie Bloomfield can help you to receive the psychological counselling that you need during those unprecedented difficult times of Coronavirus COVID-19. Everyone deserves to access the psychological care, especially in times when they feel most vulnerable.
Marie Bloomfield, clinical psychologist, is especially set up to assist you in your home. You will only need a phone to access a psychological counselling session via phone or online telehealth/video call.
You can refer yourself to our service or you can obtain a referral from your GP with a Mental Health Care Plan to access Medicare rebates. You can also claim from Private Health Insurance, Workers' Compensation Insurance or Third Party Insurance or via an Employee Assistance Program.
If you do not have a referral from your doctor, you can access online psychological counselling at the normal consultation cost of $180.00 for the initial 55-minutes session and $160.00 for subsequent follow-up 55-minutes sessions.
You may qualify for Medicare rebates or bulk billed sessions, if you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your doctor with the new measures introduced in the middle of March to help Australian deal with the upheaval of the pandemic.
If you believe that a psychological counselling session would help you, we would advise that you discuss it with your GP, or your specialist doctor. Ask your Doctor if he/she can do an initial Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) assessment to establish if it is appropriate for you to be referred to a psychologist. With a Mental Health Care Plan, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions in the following 12 months of being issued.
Here are the Medicare rebates available with a MHCP:
Please note that we will need a copy of your MHCP (which can be email to us by your doctor, or you can scan, take a picture or email it to us) before your scheduled appointment to qualify for the Medicare rebate or to be bulkbilled.
